Scott Saunders

Executive Director

Scott Saunders was born and raised in Fruita, Colorado, and is excited to have returned to the Grand Valley, which he loves. Scott has over 25 years of experience in the elder care field, having managed several assisted living communities on the Western Slope of Colorado before joining the SSL at Grand Valley community as the executive director in January 2019. Scott grew up across the street from a skilled nursing facility, and likes to say he was raised by 125 grandparents. Those formative experiences with his elders have given him a lifelong passion for serving the senior community. An avid outdoorsman, Scott spends his free time climbing, mountain biking, rafting, fishing and hunting throughout the Western states.

Joey Long

Vibrant Life Director

Joey Long is a Colorado native and has lived in Grand Junction since he moved here in 2013. Joey has worked with Solstice since day one and has loved every minute of it! In his free time, you will rarely find him inside. Rather, he would be found more often outside hiking or camping in beautiful Colorado.

Glenda Reust

Business Office Director

Glenda Reust joined Solstice at Grand Valley in 2018 as the Business Office director. She brings with her a rich background is business management and human resources. Glenda loves spending her off time with her Siberian husky and her two adult children, who still reside in the area. She loves taking advantage of everything the western slope has to offer, especially camping, fishing and enjoying the Colorado wildlife.

Tom Fuller

Building Services Director

Tom Fuller is a native of Florida and has been with Solstice since 2018. Not new to building services, Tom previously worked at large retirement communities in Florida. During his spare time, Tom burns up the road while riding his 2000 Harley-Davidson Road King.

Seferino Apodaca

Culinary Services Director

Chef Seferino Apodaca, “Chef Sef,” was born in Fresno, California, and got into the service industry as a young boy, busing tables and helping around at a local mom-and-pop shop. Chef perfected his skills working with some of the best chefs from all over the country. Recently he was the chef at Community Hospital, as well as the executive chef and director of Culinary Services of Colorado Canyons Hospital of Fruita, Colorado. He brings his passion for food and is excited to share creative dishes. He shares seven children and seven grandchildren with the love of his life, Michelle.
